This extra large composite dog house features an engineered wood panel with the look and texture of rough-sawn cedar and is made in the USA!
These homes have superior strength characteristics and are more dent, scratch, moisture, and insect resistant than most traditional cedar houses. Another feature of our engineered wood panels is that they arrive completely finished ready for assembly and use - no painting or weather sealing is required and are Eco-Friendly!
Your new house is composed of 7 pre-assembled panels including:
The floor, 4 walls and 2 roof panels.
Each home is supplied with all the necessary screws and instructions for easy assembly. All that you require to assemble one of our dog houses is a power screwdriver and approximately 10-15 minutes.
Features Of The Extra Large Insulated Dog House:
Panel-Abode™ Engineered Panel System – features a simulated rough-sawn cedar finish making the house stronger, provides for longevity and more dimensionally-stable than other cedar dog houses, with resistance to dents, scratching, warping, insects and moisture.
High Quality Insulation Package - Features true foam insulation up to 1 1/2 inches thick – no other gimmicks, and the floor is insulated as well as all 4 walls, and the roof panels unlike many other homes in the marketplace.
Pre-Finished / Easy Assembly – this house will require less maintenance and is completely finished ready for easy assembly in approximately 10 minutes! - Some cedar houses may require sealing or staining to prevent discoloration and premature weathering.
Vented Ridge Cap – This feature provides ventilation and allows heat to escape in summer, keeping your dog much cooler.
Raised Feet – Having the house elevated with raised feet prevents the base from scratching finished deck surfaces, provides air circulation underneath the house, & protects the membrane on the base of home.
Clear Vinyl Flap Door – This door helps protect your dog from the harsh elements, the material is the same heavy duty vinyl flap material used in refrigerated buildings - the clear vinyl also allows light to enter the house for your pet's comfort.
Offset Door – Offsetting the door provides a larger windbreak and area out of the direct sun or heavy wind - a centered door increases exposure to foul weather and the direct sunlight.
Roof Pitch and Overhang - The steeper roof pitch and larger overhang help shed rain and snow better than dog houses - roofline slopes away from door to prevent rain from dripping on your dog!
Slide-Lock™ True Removable Roof System – You can easily remove the roof panels in seconds without any tools for fast cleaning and puppy observation of you are raising them.

Why Invest In A Composite Dog House?
Simply put because it is good for the environment as well as your dog, there are no trees cut down for the construction of these homes.
Another reason that doesn’t relate to the environment is longevity, a composite dwelling will last a lot longer than wood because it will not decay and rot like most other products. A plastic house can emit toxic fuses that are not good for your pet.
Lastly these dwellings require almost no maintenance when compared to wood products that will require staining or painting for them to hold up against the elements.
Dog Measurements For Selecting The Right Size Dog House.
Try to perform these measurements with your dog in a relaxed standing position if possible.
Total Dog Length –
Measure from the base of your dog's tail to the end of your dog’s nose. (See diagram above)
This measurement should be smaller than or equal to the width and depth of the dog houses interior dimensions.
If you reside in an area with very cold winters, we recommend the interior dimensions of the house don't exceed the total length of your dog by more than 50% unless you invest in a dog house heater.
Total Height Of Your Dog –
Measure from the floor to the top your dog's head. (See diagram above)This measurement should be smaller than, or equal to the height of the dog houses internal height measurement.
The doghouse interior height can be up to 50% more than the total height of the dog and still provide excellent heat retention during cold weather.
For regions with extreme cold, we recommend the interior height of the house doesn't exceed the total height of the dog by more than 50% unless your dog house is equipped with a heat source.
Shoulder Height Of Your Dog –
Measure from the floor to the top of your dog's front shoulder. (See diagram above)The door opening height of the house should be a minimum of 75% of this measurement to allow for comfortable entrance and exit.
If you own an older dog that may have mobility issues you may want to select a larger door than is recommended for an average dog.
Body Width Of Your Dog –
Measure the width of your dog at its widest point, ideally this would be the width of the front shoulders. (See diagram above)The width of the door opening should be a minimum of 1" larger than the total width of the dog in order to allow movement in and out of the house easily.

Along with the extra large dog house you may want to consider a soft and comfortable orthopedic bed for their comfort, these are especially helpful if your dog is starting to get older. The bed that features memory foam is ideal because it will not clump up and is easy on their joints.
